My Services

If you have reached this website, you are likely looking for answers to questions and concerns you have about the behavior, emotions and/or cognitive functioning for you or your loved one.

Although psychological testing can seem overwhelming, it is designed to help you understand and find the correct treatment for your/their current symptoms.

Just like medical test are done to understand a patient’s physical symptoms, psychological testing uses tests, questionnaires, and clinical observation to understand a person’s behavior, personality, cognitive and social-emotional functioning.

During our first meeting together we will work together to identify the type of assessment that is needed to find the best answers for you and your loved one.

Psychological Testing

I offer quality, timely and thorough testing for children 6 years and up, adolescents and adults. I use a variety of evidence-based data collection methods, with standardized, well-researched psychological tests, clinical observation, and review of records. I analyze these and integrate them into a written psychological report that is shared with you in a collaborative environment to generate a treatment plan.

Psychoeducational Testing

I offer psychoeducational testing of a client’s cognitive, achievement, and adaptive functioning. The goal is to understand and clarify the client’s learning style and use this data to guide accommodations and support from an educational perspective.

Hi, I’m Lorena

I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist who holds a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from James Madison University and have been working in the field of mental health for over 20 years. I provide psychological testing services for a variety of mental health disorders.  I also offer psychoeducational testing services for you to understand your learning styles and receive the accommodations necessary for educational success.

I recognize that every individual is unique. When they are struggling to find answers they deserve a uniquely tailored assessment. Whether you are considering a first time diagnosis or need a re-evaluation, I can provide a timely, thorough assessment for better answers.

About Me

1020 Woodman Drive, Suite 300,

Dayton, OH 45432

The best way to reach me is by email. Together we will set up a time to meet. During our first session (called an Initial Diagnostic Intake), we will go over what issues you are currently dealilng with. After that, we will work together to determine the type of testing you need.

How long does testing take?

Typically, the first session is 1 to 1 ½ hours long. The testing sessions vary depending on the assessment done, but typically involve 2-3 testing sessions and then one feedback session.

My services are self-pay only. The first session (Diagnostic Intake Session) costs $150.00. When you decide that testing services are needed, the first session fee is incorporated into the flat fee of the total testing cost. The cost of assessment varies depending on the testing needed. Fees range between $600 to $900 regardless of how much time it takes me to complete the assessment.  Please email me for additional information, if needed.

What is the difference between Psychological Testing and Psychoeducational Testing?

Psychological Testing is used to identify and diagnose a person’s behavior, personality, cognitive and social-emotional functioning and understand the effects that these conditions have on your life whether work, home, school or other.

With this knowledge, we can identify the effects and develop a plan of intervention to help you find a way forward towards better functioning in your life.

Psychoeducational Testing is used to identify and diagnose cognitive and learning disabilities such as:

  • Dyslexia (Reading Disorder)
  • Dysgraphia (Writing Disorder)
  • Dyscalculia (Mathematics Disorder)

Aren’t testing services available in a school system at no cost?

Typically only psychoeducational testing is conducted in the schools at no cost to the client. However, I may be able to conduct the assessment in a more timely manner or if you are looking for a second opinion.
